ABOUT US

PAST & PRESENT

Since 1897, Lagarde Winery has been an integral part of Mendoza’s winemaking heritage. In 1969, our family embraced the stewardship of this historic estate, transforming it into a deeply personal, family-run project devoted to crafting wines of distinction—wines that have earned acclaim far beyond Argentina’s borders. We are proud to have vines that date 1906 and 1930 in our estate.

Today, as the third generation at the helm, we lead Lagarde with a clear and purposeful vision: to honor the past while embracing the future. During the 1980s and 1990s, we helped shape a new identity for Mendoza by introducing varietals previously unseen in the region, such as Viognier and Moscato Bianco.

When Sofía assumed leadership in 2001, she laid the foundation for a new chapter—one rooted in a profound respect for Mendoza’s land and community. A decade later, with Lucila’s arrival, our shared vision expanded to focus not only on expressive, terroir-driven wines but also on hospitality, with the creation of Fogón Cocina de Viñedo and Zonda Cocina de Paisaje.

“We see ourselves as caretakers of this treasured place—Mendoza’s land, history, and vines. It is our duty and privilege to tend the earth with care and intention, and to leave it better than we found it.”

Each harvest is a testament to that commitment: to excellence, to those who work the land, and to the profound connection between wine, place, and people.
“We believe in Mendoza and in its people. Our wines are an invitation—to share, to connect, and to celebrate the genuine moments that bring us together.”

THE LAND
DEFINES US

At the foot of the majestic Andes lies Mendoza—Argentina’s premier wine region. It’s here, in this privileged corner of the world, that Lagarde calls home. Our winery is nestled in the heart of the Upper Mendoza River Zone, a region known for its diversity, exceptional terroirs, and world-class grapes.

The soils in this area, shaped by glacial melt over centuries, are rich in history and complexity. Layer upon layer of alluvial deposits create subtle yet powerful differences in each plot, giving our wines their distinctive character. These natural contrasts—paired with Mendoza’s extreme climate—allow even two grapes from the same variety to express unique personalities, depending on their exact origin.

Years ago, we began an in-depth study of our vineyards. Today, we know every parcel by heart. This knowledge allows us to farm with precision, selecting only the plots that best express the soul of our land.

OUR VINEYARDS

We farm 218 hectares of vineyards in some of Mendoza’s most prestigious regions: Mayor Drummond, Perdriel, and Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo, and Gualtallary in the Uco Valley. All are grown using organic practices, with many plots certified.

SUSTAINABILITY
AT OUR CORE

Since day one, our story has been shaped by the generosity of the land and the passion of the people who care for it. Every vine, cluster, and bottle reflects our deep respect for the environment and our community.

Under the guidance of Sofía and Lucila Pescarmona, nature remains the anchor of everything we do. Each harvest is a tribute to the authenticity and spirit of our vineyards.

Sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s our way of life. From farming organically and using efficient water systems, to producing certified organic and vegan wines, our approach is both responsible and regenerative. We’re proud to hold internationally recognized certifications including:

• HACCP: A food safety system we apply under strict sustainability protocols.
• Bodegas de Argentina’s Sustainable Winegrowing Protocol: Applied across both our winery and vineyards.

Our commitment is ongoing and ever-evolving—driven by a simple goal: to craft exceptional wines with purpose.
